Andy Dalton

Andrew Gregory Dalton (born October 29, 1987) is an American football quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Texas Christian University (TCU). In his final college game, Dalton led TCU to a win in the 2011 Rose Bowl. He left the TCU program as its all-time leader in wins and many statistical passing categories.〔(Player Bio: Andy Dalton - Texas Christian University Horned Frogs - Official Athletic Site )〕
Dalton was selected by the Bengals in the second round (35th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft and signed a four-year, $5.2 million contract.〔(Former TCU quarterback Andy Dalton signs four year, $5.2 million contract with Cincinnati Bengals | www.pegasusnews.com | Dallas/Fort Worth )〕 Under a West Coast-style offensive scheme, Dalton and receiver A.J. Green have become a prolific quarterback/receiver combination.〔(Bengals' Dalton-to-Green rookie connection turning into one of the NFL's best - The Washington Post )〕 Dalton and Green broke NFL records for completions and yards for a rookie quarterback/receiver combination, even without the benefit of an offseason.〔(Bengals Rookie Duo Set for Encore )〕
Dalton is one of five quarterbacks in NFL history to have thrown for over 3,000 yards in each of his first three seasons, alongside Cam Newton, Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, and Russell Wilson. He is also one of only five to have passed for at least 20 touchdowns in each of his first three seasons, joining Manning, Luck, Wilson, and Dan Marino. Dalton is the only quarterback to lead the Cincinnati Bengals to four consecutive playoff berths, and just one of five quarterbacks to lead his team to the playoffs in each of his first four seasons. He is also the Bengals franchise record holder for passing yards and touchdowns in a season.〔(Andy Dalton Bengals Profile )〕
Due to his red hair, Dalton has been nicknamed The Red Rifle as well as Andy "Downtown" Daytona by Bengals fans.〔('Andy' actually is just fine for the 'Red Rifle' ).〕
